Chiefs Tip Everett 4-2, Kuhn Scores Twice

The Spokane Chiefs won their fourth game in a row as two power play goals lifted the Chiefs to a 4-2 win over the Everett Silvertips Wednesday night in Everett. Steve Kuhn led the way with two goals and an assist as the Chiefs won the season series 8-1-1.

Everett jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a Ryan Murray goal at 5:16 of the first period. Todd Fiddler's power play goal would even the game at one at 8:06 of the first. Brenden Kichton and Kuhn picked up the assists. Kuhn would give the Chiefs a 2-1 lead with a power play goal at 6:48 of the second period. Kuhn's 11th goal of the year was assisted by Corey Baldwin. Spokane outshot Everett 22-12 through two periods.

In the third, Darren Kramer tipped a Davis Vandane shot past Everett goalie Austin Lotz at 9:03 to give Spokane a 3-1 lead. Mike Aviani also picked up an assist on Kramer's 16th goal of the season. Everett's Josh Birkholz would score at 15:58 to cut the Chiefs lead to 3-2, but Kuhn would score his second of the night with 1 second left on an empty netter from Blake Gal to wrap up the win. Spokane outshot Everett 36-21 in the game, going 2-7 on the power play and 2-2 on the penalty kill.

Spokane will return home to host the Portland Winterhawks Friday night at 7:05pm at the Spokane Arena.
