PULLMAN - After winning just three games the past two seasons, the Washington State Cougars are promising you'll see a much better product on the field this fall. We'll find out this Saturday, then WSU travels to Stillwater, Okla., to face the Oklahoma State Cowboys, who are coming off two straight nine-win seasons.
Despite last season's struggles, the Cougars, while still young, are far more experienced than they were at this point last year. And they're anxious to show the fruits of their hard work.
"You feel the energy with the guys, everybody's all excited out there, jumping around," said safety Chima Nwachukwu. "All the hard we've put in up until now, this is where it's supposed to come out."
"This is everything we've been working for," added wide receiver Gino Simone. "I mean, since we started winter conditioning and working out, that's the culmination of the eight months we've been working, is us going to come out on Saturday."
The Cougars are 2-1 all-time against the Cowboys. Oklahoma State won the last meeting in 2008 at Qwest Field in Seattle.
