SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Kayla Johnson, last year's tournament MVP, scored a game-high 24 points, and Colfax beat Toutle Lake 42-33 in the Class 2B girls state tournament semifinal game Friday. Colfax (20-3) trailed 25-22 after three quarters, but Johnson scored 12 of Colfax's 20 fourth quarter points to give the Bulldogs a chance to defend their 2009 title. Colfax struggled shooting, making 22.2 percent of its shots. The Bulldogs made 1 of 15 shots from 3-point range. Colfax used their size to control the boards (42-30), leading to 13 more field-goal attempts than Toutle Lake. Sarah Andrews scored 10 points, on 3 of 12 shooting, to lead Toutle Lake (15-8). The Ducks were outscored 20-8 in the final quarter. Colfax will play La Salle (21-2) in the championship game on Saturday. Toutle Lake will take on Napavine (19-4) in the third-place contest.
