PORTLAND -- The Spokane Chiefs beat Portland on the road Friday night 4-0 behind 28 saves from James Reid.
The Chiefs took the lead for good just 4:56 into the game on Mitch Wahl's 29th goal of the season. Kyle Beach added his 49th goal of the year a little more than two minutes later. Kenton Miller and Steve Kuhn also scored for the Chiefs.
With the win, Spokane is six points behind Tri-City with five games remaining. Two of those games are against the Americans, the first of which is next Friday night, 3/12. The Chiefs next game is in Seattle on Saturday, 3/6. The puck drops at 7:05pm.
