SPOKANE -- For the second straight night at home, Spokane Chiefs forward Kyle Beach scored two goals. Unlike Friday night against Seattle, it wasn't enough to lead his team to victory on Saturday night against Kootenay.
Beach's first goal of the game came on a power play late in the first period with Spokane trailing 1-0. The Chiefs again took advantage of the extra man to start off the second period. Mitch Wahl's 24th goal of the season came on the power play, just 30 seconds in, making it 2-1. It was Spokane's first, and only lead of the game.
The Ice responded with two goals of their own in the second period. The first was on a power play at 16:32, the second came less than two minutes later giving Kootenay a lead they would never give up. They started the third period with another goal at 7:34.
Beach scored the game's final goal, a short hander, with just under three minutes remaining in the third period. He now has 34 on the season.
The Chiefs are off until Wednesday night when Everett comes to the arena. The puck drops at 7:00pm.
