Beach Records Hat Trick as Chiefs Blast Blazers
KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Kyle Beach recorded his second hat trick in three games, as the Spokane Chiefs began their three-game road trip with a 7-0 win in Kamloops Wednesday.

The win avenged an 8-1 loss at Kamloops in the Chiefs' last trip to the Blazers home rink in late January. The victory was also Spokane’s fifth straight, their longest winning streak of the season.

Mitch Wahl gave the Chiefs a 1-0 lead as his shot from inside the right goal line sneaking past Kamloops goalie Kurtis Mucha on the near post. Beach would then put the Chiefs up 2-0 with a rebound of his own shot at 15:08 of the period to give Spokane a 2-0 lead after one.

Beach would then score his second of the night as he snapped one under the crossbar on Mucha at 2:28 of the second period to make it 3-0 Spokane. Jared Cowen would make it 4-0 with a slap shot from the left circle at 11:42 of the period. Wahl would then score his second of the night 10 seconds into the Chiefs first power play of the night at 17:47 of the period to make it 5-0 Spokane.

Levko Koper’s goal at 9:13 of the third period gave the Chiefs a 6-0 lead. Beach then capped his second hat trick of the week with his third goal of the night on a Wahl feed at 12:04 of the third to cap the 7-0 win.

Beach, who now has seven goals in Spokane's last three games, finished with four points, while Wahl had three on the night. Spokane outshot Kamloops 45-26 on the game.

James Reid turned away 26 shots to pick up his fourth shutout of the year.

The Chiefs will continue their road trip Friday night when they visit the Kootenay Ice for the final time this year.
