PULLMAN - Washington State starting cornerback Brandon Jones has been kicked off the team by head coach Paul Wulff, after being arrested for driving under the influence, early Saturday morning in Pullman.
Officially, WSU says his dismissal was for a "violation of team rules."
Jones had previously been suspended by Wulff from all team activities after being arrested by the Pullman Police in December for an alleged assault.
Jones, a senior to be from Seattle, started eleven games for the Cougars in 2009, recording 37 tackles and one interception.
The Cal transfer was picked up by WSU Police at 3:13am Saturday on NE McGee Way.
