With a 20-0 record and a first place ranking in the state, this is turning into a dream season for the Rosalia Spartans. "We're having a log of fun," said senior John Kuhn. "It's been kind of our goal all along to have a really good senior year." "We don't get to play high school basketball after this season," said senior Zach St. John. "If we can go out as one of the top teams, I think we can say we had a successful season." The Spartans are led by three seniors, John Kuhn, Zach St. John, and Jim Maley, each leading in their own way. "Zach is more of an outspoken leader, I just try to lead by example, and John he leads by example too and throws in a little words every once in a while," said Maley. These three seniors have led the Spartans to a lot of wins this year on the court, and a lot of great marks in the classroom. "They all have aspirations of going to four-year Universities, and getting a degree that will help them in the future, and they know that their grades are what will get them there," said head coach Rob Hudkins. The Spartans have a long way to go to reach their ultimate goal of a state title, and they know they have the support of their community. "I think it just brings a lot of positive energy to our town. It gives people something to do in the winter time," Hudkins said. "Going down to Touchet, which is a two and a half hour bus ride, and we have a really good following and we have great crowds that want to participate and be a part of it," said Kuhn. It's a town that's ready to follow the Spartans all the way to the state championship at the Sun Dome in Yakima.
