Indians' Hoying, Hulett Earn NWL Honors

SPOKANE - The Northwest League announced that Spokane Indians left fielder Jared Hoying was named the 2010 NWL Most Valuable Player. Indians Manager Tim Hulett captured the Manager of the Year award.

Hoying, a speedy outfielder from Ft. Loramie, Ohio, has hit .326 thus far this season with 75 hits including 10 home runs, 12 doubles, five triples and 50 RBIs. Hoying also stole 19 bases, tying him for second in the NWL.

Hoying won the NWL Player of the Week for the week of July 26th, making him the first Indian since the 2006 season to win the award.

Indians manager Tim Hulett was named the NWL 2010 Manager of the Year. Hulett has led the Indians to a 40-30 record with six games remaining in the regular season, and the Eastern Division First Half Championship. This is the second time in three seasons; Hulett has won the award, his first coming
in 2008. Hulett has a 161-136 overall record in 4 seasons (2007-2010).

The Indians return to Avista Stadium on September 7th for game two of the 2010 TicketsWest NWL Playoffs.
