PULLMAN -- The University of Idaho volleyball team couldn't get over the hump against UC Irvine Saturday as the Anteaters claimed a 3-0 victory over the Vandals with 25-10, 25-18 and 25-23 victories. The Vandals never found the rhythm they had in their 3-1 win over Weber State on Friday night, as they hit just .045 as a team against UCI. The loss puts Idaho at 1-1 on the year, while UC Irvine improves to 1-1 with the win. Idaho was led by Allison Walker's 14 kills and .235 hitting percentage, while Jenny Feicht finished with 19 assists and 13 digs. Trailing 24-18 in the third set, Idaho mounted rallied to win five straight points, but fell just short of completing the comeback. UC Irvine hit .182 for the match and was led by Larissa Nordyke's 10 kills and 10 assists. Marissa Alvarez had 15 assists for the Anteaters and Ashley Bosza also added 10. The Vandals will return to action to wrap up the Nike Cougar Invitational against Washington State (1-1) at 7 p.m.
