Shadle Court named after legendary coach

SPOKANE -- Linda Sheridan led the Shadle Park girls volleyball and basketball teams to a combined 849 wins and seven state titles. On Saturday the school Sheridan has given so much to gave back.

The Highlanders naming their new volleyball and basketball court Linda Sheridan Court in honor of the winningest coach in Spokane prep sports history. Sheridan's teams had a winning percentage of 79.3, won 17 Greater Spokane League titles, and advanced to the state tournament an astounding 32 times before she retired in 1998.

Sheridan is a member of the WSU and Inland Empire Sports Hall of Fame but says Saturday's honor tops them all.

"It's absolutely an overwhelming experience," Sheridan said. "I am not sure anyone is worthy of this and I think everyone is worthy of something like this. I hope everyone gets to experience something like this during their life, it's phenomenal. I feel so blessed."
