Congratulations to Kennewick native Leilani Mitchell of the WNBA's New York Liberty. She has been named the WNBA's most improved player

Mitchell got twenty nine of the thirty nine votes cast for the award. In this, her third season in the WNBA, Mitchell scored nearly seven points more per game than last year and averaged nearly one and a half assists more per game. She also led the WNBA in three point field goal percentage and was second in three point shots made.
