PULLMAN - The Washington State Cougars were back on the practice field Tuesday, after having Monday off for the first day of classes.
And with school now in session, players have to deal with managing their time between all the requirements of school and football. And even though this happens every year at every schools, it's something the returners have to get used to again and the freshmen and transfers have to learn for the first time.
"We're going to have to start getting up earlier in the morning for meetings and what not and later practices," said offensive lineman Wade Jacobson, a junior college transfer. "I mean, it's going to take a toll on us. But, I mean, just like fall camp did, too, you know? You just have to get used to it."
"Mentally, we have to stay focused, stay locked in, stay the course," added safety Tyree Toomer. "We know what our goal is this season and we just, the team has got to remain focused."
The Cougars have eleven days remaining before their season opener on September 4 at Oklahoma State.
