The Americans have a new assistant coach

Scott Beattie, who is a former college and European League league teammate of head coach Jim Hiller, fills the spot vacated by Terry Virtue last week.

Beattie has spent the l;ast two years as an assistant coach with the Kootenay ice, and before that played thirteen years overseas.

He was also an All American while playing at Northern Michigan University.
