Just when I thought my wife was about to divorce me for once again taking on three fantasy football teams, in addition to my fantasy baseball team, she goes out and proves, once again, why she's my fantasy wife.
It used to be that she'd mock and make fun of me for the countless hours I spend playing fantasy sports. But as she wrote in this blog, she's decided if you can't beat them, join them.
Melissa, who's always been a big football fan and knows a lot more about the sport than most women (which is a big reason why I married her), has joined a fantasy football league and participated in her first online draft earlier this week. And I must say, her team is probably stronger than any of the three I drafted over the past two weeks.
We're not playing in the same league, so there won't be any in-house fantasy arguments. Just healthy discussions over who should be starting or sitting, potential trades and how our teams are going to steamroll the competition that week.
Now I can finally share my once private fantasy obsession with my now fantasy wife.
