Greetings from Memphis

Yesterday was quite the adventure…17 hours of travel and we are here in Memphis.  Not going to put everyone to sleep with a long story of our day…let’s just say we slept well last night.

Now on to important stuff.  Gonzaga and North Carolina both went through their manditory public practices today.  Gonzaga looked very relaxed today, as did North Carolina.  There was a big difference between the two teams…Gonzaga had all their players practicing, the Tar Heels did not.

There has been a lot of talk the last week about Ty Lawson and his injured toe.  He played in the second round game against LSU, and played well in the second half.  What was revealed today in the press conference was very interesting.  Head coach Roy Williams said that Lawson told him today that his toe was about 6 out of 10…he also said that it was 8 out of 10 before the LSU game.  That’s not good for North Carolina.

In the Zags locker room we asked about 5 different players that if they were Mark Few, which player on North Carolina would scare you the most…they all said Ty Lawson.  So if Lawson isn’t 100%, and he will more than likely not be…that’s good news for the Zags.

On a side note…sometimes it sucks to be covering basketball.  It is a beautiful day here in Memphis, I would guess close to 70 degrees and we have been stuck in a gym all day.  I guess it’s better than shooting a football game in the rain and snow, but still, I have to complain about something right?
