The high school football season ended over the weekend in Tacoma, but for one Deer Park senior the sports season is never over.
Whether it’s football, basketball, or baseball, Deer Park senior Alex Wulf knows how to take charge.
"Alex has been a leadership player, he’s been a leader all the way, younger guys just follow what he does,” head basketball coach Ken Ryan said.
“I try and lead by example, I’m not really a vocal leader, I’ll do something and I’ll try to have them follow me,” Wulf said.
“His willingness to step up and recognize when his teammates need a little help and put the football team on his back or the basketball team when it’s time to make a play, he’s the guy,” head football coach Keith Stamps said.
Wulff is a first team all-league performer in football and baseball, which makes it hard for him to decide which sport to follow into college.
“It’s tough between baseball and football actually, I play basketball for my friends and stuff, I like to help them on the court,” Wulf said.
The only time you won’t find Wulf playing sports, is when he’s in the classroom.
“The grades are the key to success, we tell that to our players all the time, so how he handles himself on the court is how he handles himself in the classroom,” Ryan said.
Wulf has left his mark in everything this does at Deer Park High School and his coaches are sure he’ll continue to lead wherever he goes.
